There's something satisfying about opening a cabinet and seeing a harness that matches the photo from the build bench. After the mess I made in Q3 2023, that consistency is the payoff.
Common mistakes I've made so you don't have to
- Buying cheap pegs first. They flex, so the bundle geometry changes between the first and last harness. Re-cutting cost more than the good pegs.
- Skipping earmuffs during board modification. Cutting and drilling a board is loud. Your ears don't stop hurting because the job is short.
- Trusting a warning to do a protector's job. An arc flash label doesn't prevent a short. A CO detector doesn't clean the air. The label and detector are only useful if you act on them.
